Schools

The San Ramon Valley Unified School District (SRVUSD) consists of 35 schools that serve the Alamo, Blackhawk, Danville, Diablo, San Ramon and Dougherty Valley communities. A portion of Walnut Creek and Pleasanton are also served by this district.
School performance
SRVUSD ranks 6th among all unified school districts in the state of California, and in 2008 the California Academic Performance Index ranked them highest in those school districts of 9,000 plus enrollments.
The SRVUSD has a reputation for excellence that is well deserved. Schools in the San Ramon Valley District have received The State Department of Education?s Distinguished Schools Award more than 50 times; more times than any other district in northern California. The U.S. Department of Education has also recognized district schools as National Blue Ribbon Schools.
Success in the classroom leads to success in life.
For the second consecutive year, Gale Ranch Middle School students won the 2011 U.S. Department of Energy National Science Bowl at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C.
More than 94% of SRVUSD students go on to attend a university or college. The University of California and the California State University systems accepts more students from SRVUSD than average enrollment rates for the entire state.
Community
Students? success is impacted by their parents? participation in their education. San Ramon Valley parents take a direct role in their children?s education by volunteering more than 300,000 hours each year.
